Commands I will briefly explain what the commands are and how they work here. From the book-selection menu you can choose a book by using the arrow keys, and then open the book with the key, and quit the program with the key. From the Chapter Selection menu you can use the arrow keys to select one of the listed chapters. will take you back to the disk-selection menu. will open the book to the selected chapter. and will take you to the first and last chapters, respectively. From the View Chapter screen (The chapter is displayed on this one) you can use the up/down arrow keys to scroll up/down one line. The and keys will take you to the first screen and the last screen of the current book. The and keys will take you up a page or down a page. There are also a number of ALT-KEY commands available from here. They are: ALT-A About the program. This will display a little screen of information telling about the program, and how to register it. ALT-B This will activate the Book Mark window. In the Book Mark window, you can select one of the book makes and go directly there. To go to a book mark, select it and hit to abort, and stay where you were, hit . There is no command to write a book mark. A Bookmark is automatically written when you exit a book. There is room for up to ten book marks, then the program starts dumping the oldest ones from the list. This feature is only available in a REGISTERED copy of Read Book. ALT-C This will open the Configuration menu where you can set the colors and enter you Validation information. For more about this look at the chapter on SETUP/INSTALLATION. ALT-F This will find text from the beginning of the chapter. The command is not case sensitive. If no text is found then it will say so. ALT-H This will display a brief summary of all the commands and what they do. Very convenient if you forget what the commands are. ALT-I If the book you are reading has a .INF file, then this command will display the file. This file is for information about the book, and how to go about registering the book (unless you register the books the authors will get no compensation) ALT-L This will load the previous chapter and display it. ALT-M This will let you Highlight a part of the text. You will be asked to move a cursor to the first line of the screen to convert and hit , then it will want you to move the cursor to the last file and hit This will Highlight all the lines in between. While in this mode, the screen WILL NOT scroll. This will only work if you have a REGISTERED VERSION of Read Book. ALT-N This will display the next chapter. Very useful when you are reading a book because you don't have to go back to the chapter selection menu. ALT-P This will pull up the Print Menu. From the print menu you can choose to print the whole chapter, from the current screen to the end of the chapter, all the Highlights in the Chapter (REGISTERED) and all the HighLights from the current screen to the end of the Chapter (REGISTERED) You can abort the printing by pressing while it is printing. ALT-S This is the same as ALT-F, except that it will find the text from the line below the current line (The topmost one) to the end of the file. If no text is found then it will say so. ALT-U This works the same as ALT-M, but it will UnHighlight ALL the lines in between the two markers.
